Week #30 Through Him who loves us

Hi wie gehts? Man, that was a quick week. I can't believe that we have already made it to February. Time flies fast in the field I guess.

Anyway, we started the week with a tausch or an exchange. I was with Elder Vogel in Waiblingen. Vogel is from Germany and he is so cool.  He had good tips for German and the mission. He is about a year out on the mission. He stopped nearly everyone he could. It was awesome.

Thursday we were on the street most of the time. Finding is what makes missionary work start to happen and man, it can be fun or it can be exhausting. The hard thing sometimes is that it seems that no one is interested in the message at ll. They either really love the church they already attend or they do not want anything with religion. Either way it can be kind of discouraging. I met two people this week who belong to a new church called Gospel Forum. Not sure what it is but it is really popular among young adults. Anyway, the two of them loved that we were sharing a message about Jesus Christ and they even prayed for us but as for meeting later, they had no desire. I just try to go on with hope that God will placed people who want the message in our path.

Finding pictures!

Friday was a fun birthday and yet it did not feel like a birthday at all. I went on a quick tausch with Elder Peterson, one of our zone leaders . We found 5 people in my area and then we went to a lesson in his zone. We had another lesson in Waiblingen and that was pretty much it for Friday.  I do not feel 19 at all but that is okay.

Thanks for the new tie!

Saturday was transfer calls. Hansen and I stay in Waiblingen for another transfer in Waiblingen.  That last transfer was so quick and I have learned a lot. We had 3 lessons planned Saturday but two of them fell through. The one that did happen was a quick 20 minutes with a guy named Jul. His German is not great but we tried teaching the Restoration.  Looking back, I taught the Restoration quite a few times this week. It really makes us special out of all Christian churches.

Sunday was fast sunday and it was great. The members gave awesome testimonies. We met with Ashock, a long time investigator and we discussed baptism. He really wants to but he has to discuss a few things with his parents. It was just reassuring to see he really wants to be baptized; he just wants to make sure his whole family is on board. We met with Ruben one last time but he asked if we could discuss philosophy. Yeah, I am not sure if we will meet him again but it was cool how we could fit in a few gospel principles into the discussion.

I hear the Eagles won!  This snuggie has been in the apartment for ages

Monday was the last district meeting for this transfer. I am going to miss our district. Two are getting transferred tomorrow. We had a great time having fun and learning from each other.  We discussed commitments but also we are all human. No one is perfect but we should certainly try to do our best. We also had FHE with a few members. One sister told us how she shared a Book of Mormon with her friend. We have been trying to have members join us in missionary work and it was cool to see one come along.

Singing one last time together before transfers

Today we went to the Fernsehturm. It is a super tall tower in Stuttgart. It was so high and it was a beautiful view. I will have to send the pictures next week. Elder Hansen has them on his really nice camera. Anyway, yeah the 5th transfer begins tomorrow.  Time is a weird thing but I am so glad to be here and to be a full time servant of the Lord.

I wanted to share a favorite scripture of mine. It is Romans 8:35, 37

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Remember you can conquer any obstacle in life as long as you turn to the Lord Jesus Christ. He adds all the meaning to life and helps those willing to follow him. Have a good week everyone! Talk again soon!
