Week #3 "180 years of Missionary Service in England"
Hi Everyone! I cannot believe P Day is already here but I am glad that I was able to hear and write to you guys today. Anyway, where to begin... First of all, I could not imagine my MTC experience would be like this. And that is a good thing. I have learned a lot. I have grown a little bit. I have come to love German and the people of my mission more. Three weeks feels like an eternity but I am grateful for the experience that I have had.
Talk about experiences! We have the Pageant the next two weeks. We went to the dress rehearsal and the missionaries come in at the finale. The theme is Truth will Prevail! We finish with Redeemer of Israel and man is it powerful! I choked up a little bit because the Spirit was definitely there. Also, we are doing a musical number for Elder Ballard on Thursday. Did I mention that Elder Ballad is coming? I am so excited! He is going to speak to us and man, I cannot express how blessed I have been at the MTC. To be able to have these musical moments and to see one of the Lord's anointed servants... I can feel the Lord's Hand wherever I go and yeah, it has been great.
German is going well. My district keeps saying that I am the best at German but I don't think so. When it comes to normal conversation, I can only say so much. But when I am looking at and teaching an investigator, the words and grammar come a lot easier. It is a great experience to feel the Gift of Tongues work. German is still hard but I am becoming more comfortable and more excited to speak with the natives.
(Some pictures of me and Elder Keir teaching our investigators in TRC. We have to record on our tablets so I took some screenshots)

Another experience we had this week is that we got to go to the Church History sites near us. 180 years ago, early missionaries of the church came to England and preached the Gospel. We visited the block where they first preached, the home they lived, the river where they baptized, the home where Elder Hinckley realized his purpose as a missionary, and some old spots in Preston. It was a beautiful tour and I am glad that I got to see it.
180 years ago, missionaries came to preach the gospel. Fast forward to now and heare we are.
The tall white building. This is where Heber C. Kimball stayed while in England. The story goes that the work was going so well that the devil himself visited Kimball and tried to stop the work. Kimball casted him out and continued to work
The place where Hinckley got the famous letter from his father. "Lose himself and get to work"
A quick spiritual message before I go. We talked about Lucifer as an MTC and how he was a coward at the beginning. He wanted the glory to himself and did not care about anyone else. He tries to tell us that whatever challenge we have, we are not capable. But we are capable. We made that choice to come here and to take the risk so we can become like Our Father in Heaven. Satan does not know that feeling to risk so much for something better than yourself. If he tries to discourage you, do not listen to him. Listen to the voices that matter: your family, your friends, the Spirit. May we choose to do the harder things and take courage rather than shrink from the challenges placed before us.
Love you guys! Talk to you soon.
